“Are You Ready…When Life Comes Knocking?” is a free workshop for seniors, caregivers, and children of seniors presented by a group of Rockwall County professionals that are senior care service providers that include Steve Hanson from Home Care Assistance; Tim Nichols of Nichols Wealth Management; Margaret O’Connor from the Law Office of Susan Satterwhite; Steven Stanford, CPA; Jason Dugdale of Charles Schwab; Lupe Gonzales of Gonzales Insurance; Karen Mendenhall of Ebby Halliday Realtors; Amanda Self of National Senior Care; and Kim Lawrence of Seasoned Life Transitions, Inc. Also, featuring a “Prevent the Fall” presentation by Natalie Strahl from Baylor, Scott & White.

It was a chance to meet a panel of professionals to learn about the importance of being prepared before a major life event occurs. What is a life event? Life events include marriage, children arriving back home, children leaving home, divorce, illness, disability, loss of income, economic downturn, age progression, medical care, and death. What do I need in place to reduce the burden of my care on a loved one? What are the legal steps I need to be prepared for a life event? What kind if insurance will be best to preserve my savings? What services and agencies are available to assist me or my loved ones when a life event occurs? How do I get started? All of these questions and more will be discussed. You will also have the opportunity to sit down and meet individually with these experts to answer your specific questions.
